Welcome to The Jacomo Sailing Club

The Jacomo Sailing Club is the oldest public sailing club in the Kansas City area. It was founded in 1958 (see History of the Club) , and has a 38 year history of running top notch one design races on Lake Jacomo. JSC is enjoying a resurgence of activity and membership, and currently has the following active fleets: Windmills, Snipes, Thistles, C-Scows, Sweet-16's, and Handicap. At the moment the handicap fleet includes partial fleets of  E-Scows. All boats are welcome in the handicap fleet; recently included were Demon, Buccaneer, Star, J-22, Sonar, Lightning and Y-Flyer. The Jacomo Sailing Club is a member of both the Central States Sailing Association and US Sailing. The club holds Sunday afternoon races, from May through October. The races start at 1:30, and boats sail from both Sailboat Cove on the East side, and the marina on the West side. The club welcomes all new interest, even if you have never sailed. Contact us!
