NOTICE OF RACE (NOR)
EVENT
2009 Jacomo Sailing Club Wyant Cup Races will be held Sept
19, 2009 to determine the club championship. Boat will be
provided for contestants. Preferred format is fleet racing using
Sweet 16s without spinnakers. This will be a one day event with
the number of races one less that the number of competitors. The
regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current
Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and the JSC Sailing Instruction (para
5.1 does not apply). Boat owner can not race their own boat
should it be used for the competition. The format will be fleet
racing with one start.
LOCATION
Regatta activity will be
conducted from the Lake Jacomo west side ramp and shelter.
DATES
Saturday, Sept 19, 2009. The alternate date is Sunday, Sept
20.
ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION
Competitors shall be JSC Racing Members in good standing and
meet all the requirements of the JSC by-laws. Competitors must
also have started at least five (5) club races during the
current racing season. To register, email (or mail) your intent
to compete to the Vice Commodore, Alan Fransen, on or before
Tuesday, Set 15. For registration questions between Sept 8 and

TIME SCHEDULE Skipper’s meeting: 9:30AM. Race times and boat assignments will be announced at the
Skippers Meeting
SCORING
Scoring will be done using a modified low
point system appendix A with the following exceptions. 1st
= 1 , 2nd = 2 and one
point is added for each additional place. DNS = # of starters
plus 1. DNF = # of starters. DNC = # of entrance. DSQ = # of
entrance plus 1. Ties will be broken using Appendix A.8. All
races sailed will count. Judges may award break-down point. The
Vice Commodore may stop the race when a clear winner has been
decided.
OTHER
Donuts and coffee will be provided before
racing begins. Box lunches will be provided for all
contestants and volunteers. JSC PIG ROAST: following the racing. See
